Drawn to the darkness, but buoyed by the light, ever ready to embrace new ideas and different perspectives on music and the dance floor, Lazarus is always ahead of the curve, with a wry smile on his face and a neat trick up his sleeve. As a DJ, producer, tastemaker, label boss, and Day Zero curator Damian Lazarus has built up a revered reputation in dance circles. But now the Crosstown Rebels lynchpin has introduced a daring new project. Working with James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco, Arctic Monkeys), Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons completed sessions on their debut album in Mexico early last year. Inspired by Lazarus’ Lazpod series, Get Lost events and his very own Day Zero festival, the project utilizes all manner of brave new sounds. Damian Lazarus explains: “There is nothing that compares to Djing under the stars in the night air or being responsible for sound tracking the rising of the sun in the morning and I wanted to create an album that reflects these beautiful moments.”
We are extremely delighted to have Damian feature his first live show with the Ancient Moons at Day Zero festival this year!
